From the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston: As many of you are aware, the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio, recently released a list of priests who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. Included in the list were the names of priests who have been stationed near, or who have celebrated liturgies and other events at parishes within the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, including our Catholic Schools. The Diocese encourages anyone who may be the victim of abuse by one of these priests, or any priest in the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, to contact your local authorities or the Diocesan Office of Safe Environment at (304) 233-0880.  Diocese of Steubenville Release.

PPO

Saint Joseph School depends on parents as an educational partner. Families are asked to remain active in their children’s schooling. All current families are members of our Parents as Partners Organization (PPO). The PPO meets four times a school year and organizes a variety of family and school activities throughout the year.

We require families to complete 30 hours of school service each year. This could mean chaperoning a field trip, assisting with fundraisers, sending in treats for a class party, serving lunch in the cafeteria, etc. There are many opportunities throughout the year available to families to complete these hours. The PPO is a wonderful way to discover the upcoming volunteer opportunities and make new friends.
