Congratulations to rising SJS sixth-grader Noah Redila, who won an essay contest as part of Juneteenth Celebration 2025!
Area middle-schoolers had the chance to submit posters exhibiting or 500-to 1,000-word essays explaining why Juneteenth is important.
In his essay, he wrote, in part: “We can celebrate freedom and the fight toward equality together on the 19th of June. … I’m really glad America has a holiday celebrating the end of slavery.”
