National Day of Mourning
Dear SJS Family,
The school will be open on Wednesday, December 5,2018
December 5th has been declared a day of mourning for the funeral of former President, George W. Bush. Our Governor has decided to close the public schools for the day. We at St. Joseph are blessed to be a Catholic School, and are going to honor the day of mourning by mourning, as we do for the passing of our loved ones. Tomorrow is our normal school Mass at 8:30AM, before we start the Mass, we will take a moment of silence. The Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of President Bush. We would like to invite any family members to join us for Mass in the morning. We will then spend the rest of the day in our normal activities at school. We will make sure that we have reading in all of our grades, as literacy was very important to the Bush family. Thank you for making St. Joseph School special. Let us continue to pray for each other, and may we all say a special prayer for President Bush, his family, and the United States of America. We look forward to spending this day of mourning together tomorrow.
