Posters reflecting the true meaning of Christmas created by three Saint Joseph School students won at the state level of a contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
Second-grader Coraline Reed and sixth-grader Rhea Rawat placed first in their age groups (grades one and two, and grades five and six, respectively), and fourth-grader Lily Soltis placed second among those in grades three and four in the “Keep Christ in Christmas” contest.
Their 11-by-17-inch posters placed first at the local level of the Knights’ competition after judging by SJS art teacher Jane King, which advanced them to the next stage of the contest.
The students’ artwork will now be judged by the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus.
