Athletics at St. Joseph School

A group of thirteen kids and one adult stand in a line on a gymnasium basketball court, facing the camera. The gym has a high ceiling, banners, and a basketball hoop is visible above them.Beginning in Pre-Kindergarten, students participate in a Physical Education class once or twice a week. The fundamentals of a variety of sports are taught through these P.E. classes. We also offer a running club for grades 3-5.

A girls volleyball team in navy uniforms is mid-game in a gymnasium. Four players are on the court; their teammates and coaches cheer excitedly on the sidelines, some standing and raising their arms in celebration. We offer extracurricular athletic opportunities for students in Grades 6-8. Offered sports include co-ed Cross Country, girls Volleyball, boys Basketball, girls

Basketball, Cheerleading, and co-ed Tennis. Our athletes compete with other private schools and some public schools (depending on the sport) throughout the area. They have also won conferences in volleyball, basketball, and cross country!

Our students work and train hard to be the best that they can be and encourage their teammates to do the same no matter what sport they are participating in. They strive to fully live out what St. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy: 7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. In sports, as in all things, our goal is that our participation will draw us closer to Christ.
