Saint Joseph School is seeking a full-time staff accountant. This position is responsible for summarizing transactional data into the general ledger, conducting bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll processing and assisting with financial reporting for nonprofit organizations. The ideal individual must have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and have administrative and organizational skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Compile transactional data and post it to accounting software

Assist with the preparation of financial reports, i.e., balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of income statements

Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations and accounts payable

Supporting role for payroll and HR responsibilities

Ad-hoc reporting to include Excel spreadsheets making use of pivot tables

Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills and requirements:

Minimum of associate degree in accounting or finance

Experience with QuickBooks or similar ERP software desired

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Works well in a professional, yet relaxed team environment

The full-time position pays $40,000 to $45,000 a year and includes full benefits. The successful candidate will work eight-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
